Re-Entry Plan for September Released
Alberta Government Announces In-Person Classes to Resume Sept. 1
Year-End Message for Families
What an unusual last day of
school for students. Our office will close on Tuesday, June 30 at noon,
reopening August 26 at 9 am. Information regarding the reopening
of schools will be shared after August 1.
As we wrap up our school year I
wanted to keep families up to date on further staffing changes.
Please join me in congratulating
Mike MacKenzie as he tries Middle School, moving to Samuel W Shaw. Lyndsay
Servos is joining the Ron Southern team, teaching with Allen Wideman. Enrolment
numbers have not been finalized and, as a result, we have not made a final
decision as to whether we will have 5/6 multi-aged class configurations or
straight grade 5 and grade 6 classrooms.
We would also like to welcome
Allison Jackson and Jennifer Stanford to our team. Allison is teaching music
and kindergarten. Jennifer is teaching grade 2.
In addition, Mary Lou Aiken is
teaching one of our new Enhanced Educational Supports classes. The Educational
Assistants supporting the new EES class include Heather Johnson, Karen Bates
and Silvia Carr-Peterer.
I would like to thank both Kari
Burton and Kelty Lacey and wish them all the best as they await information
about their placements within the Calgary Board of Education for the 2020-21
school year. Kim Spiller will return in April 2021 from maternity leave.
Samantha Jozsa will begin a maternity leave in September 2020.
Please take a moment to provide feedback
to my Education Director regarding the hiring of a new Principal.
Our year end farewell video,
which is unlisted, can be watched again at https://youtu.be/wNm6EOjUP3c
It has been a privilege to be the
Principal of Ron Southern School. I wish each of you a peaceful, healthy
