School Property

We take great pride in keeping a tidy school; both inside and out. We ask all our students to be good citizens by putting garbage and recycling where it belongs, and helping to keep our classrooms and playground clean.  We have green bins for composting and students are able to throw orange and banana peels, paper towels, tissues, apple cores and fruit pits - basically anything organic - into the green bins.

Also, a reminder that smoking is not permitted on CBE property. Parents and family members may not smoke anywhere outside of the school. This includes sidewalks. Your cooperation is both appreciated and expected. Parents are also reminded that the school compounds and playground areas are a "No Dogs" area with signs as per City Bylaws.

School Telephone Use

The school has only two phone lines and a fax line to accommodate the needs of the entire school community. As such, we attempt to keep those lines as free and open as possible during “peak” times so that calls of an emergent nature can be received. We ask that students receive permission from a staff member before using a telephone in order to determine the degree of importance.

By example, students who are staying for after school activities should make the necessary arrangements with their parents before hand and it should not be necessary for them to phone home to receive permission. Please make all arrangements for noon and after school activities in advance. Messages for students are sometimes difficult to relay in a timely fashion.
