A formal written report card for all students will be issued in December and June. In addition, opportunities for conversations with teachers are scheduled in September, November and March allowing parents an opportunity to share beneficial information about their child with the school. See our Calendar page for exact dates.
Formal parent-student centered conferences with teachers are scheduled for November and March. If concerns or questions should arise at any time about students, parents are invited to contact the school office to set up an appointment to meet with teachers. We encourage ongoing dialogue throughout the year; however, we ask that teacher’s privacy be respected by not contacting them at home or during class time to discuss student progress. Escalating issues of concern are best discussed in person rather than through email.
We believe that teachers are the primary leaders in the classroom and that almost all issues can and should be dealt with at that level. When all other avenues have been exhausted, teachers and parents may choose to ask the principal to meet and discuss other strategies for resolving problems or concerns. In this way, we honour the role of the educators who are the most knowledgeable about the work that is occurring in the classroom.
