Thank you to Saddle Ridge School Community,
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our school community and our School Council for all of your ongoing support this school year. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we worked through the changes that a global pandemic brought and the impacts on our school community. We began our school year with over 140 of our students attending on-line learning through Hub and over 370 attending in-person learning. During the year, we transitioned the whole school to on-line learning in January for one week and again in May for two weeks, as well as, many individual classes throughout the year. Our school staff and students have been amazingly resilient and students have continued to be excited and engaged in their learning during all of these changes.
This year, our School Development Plan has focused around literacy and well-being. Teachers have worked with each other and student's to develop a variety of instructional strategies that continue to improve student writing across the curriculum areas. Alongside our literacy goal, we have also developed well-being for learning at Saddle Ridge. This goal has focused on expanding our students' sense of belonging in the school, by building connections in our school community. We are excited about the progress our students have made and will be continuing these goals into the 2021-2022 school year.
As we finish this school year, we are also in the process of planning for next year. We look forward to welcoming most of our families back to Saddle Ridge School in September. Just before the first day of school, you will be receiving a Welcome Email from your child's teacher. This will introduce students to their new teacher and include classroom location, entry door information, pick-up information and other important start of the year instructions.
At the end of the school year, we will be saying farewell to Ms. H. Gill (Grade 1) and Ms. McBride (Grade 1). It has been a pleasure having these two excellent teachers at Saddle Ridge School and we wish them all the best in their new school.
All of our staff at Saddle Ridge School would like to take a final opportunity to wish you and your family a wonderful, safe and restful summer.
We look forward to seeing everyone back to school on September 1, 2021.
Sandra and Shane
