Hello Acadia Families,
We have a VERY important, VERY exciting announcement to make from our Playground Committee:
Exciting Playground Update
Planning has been underway for a couple of years to build a new playground at Acadia Elementary School, replacing the decades old structure that has reached the end of its lifespan.
Following countless hours of planning, consultation with students, parents and teachers, and over a dozen grant applications, we are thrilled to inform you that we have secured nearly 95 percent of the funding required to build the new playground.
Through the unwavering support of the Acadia Parent Advisory Society, and their significant financial contribution to the project from multiple fundraising activities such as fun lunches, raffles, Purdys, bacon, Coco Brooks and casinos, $155,000 secured in grant funds, and other generous donations, we are just about ready to be able to break ground on the new playground this summer.
On behalf of the Playground Committee, we thank you all for your support as we embark on the final push to get the new playground built, just in time for the 2022/23 school year.

Casino
This is a reminder that parent council is still looking for volunteers to help with the Casino June 2 and 3rd. Many positions still need to be filled at this time. This is an important opportunity for parents to get involved and help our school. The fund we receive from this opportunity help support the students in many ways such as gym equipment, various residencies and currently the playground initiative. If you are available or want more information, please contact Jill Swingler at acadiacasino@gmail.com.
Message from Parent Council
We are looking for some NEW board volunteers for the Parent Council/Acadia Parent Advisory Society for the 2022-2023 school year (and beyond)! Take a look at the attached flyer and let us know if you could STEP UP and be one of the parents/guardians to take on the role. Board members are needed for the council and society to run smoothly, without these volunteers we lose out on so much (money) to help our school community.
If you have any questions, please reach out at acadiaschoolcouncil@gmail.com!
