​One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. Parent Society

Our Parent Society is known as Samuel W. Shaw Fundraising Society.

It is a separate, parent-run organization devoted to raising funds to enhance the learning opportunities for students. It is also open to all parents and guardians of students at Samuel W. Shaw. 

Meeting Schedule

At present, Parent Society meetings will be held virtually, and in conjunction with our School Council meetings. Joining info will be shared with parents through School Messenger emails and can be found below.  

Please note, we are using Microsoft Teams for our meetings, Teams can be accessed through an internet browser, phone and tablet app or as part of Microsoft Office on your computer. 

Meeting times for the 2022-2023 school year are as follows:

  • September 15, 2022 @ 6:30pm on Microsoft Teams (link emailed to parents)
