The Week Ahead September 5 - 8, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians

What an exciting first two days we have had here at SPB. Hundreds of new students joined SPB for this year and we were delighted to finally welcome them in person. Students have now met their new teachers and classmates and have a general idea of where and when they need to go to for their classes. These changes and new experiences fill many with joy and excitement, for others this is stressful and exhausting. Both reactions are valid, and normalcy will start to settle in after a couple of weeks. These first weeks are important to build relationships and to get used to new circumstances. Change is the one constant that this generation will experience again and again, and we will do our best to support all our students to adapt.

We would like to invite you for a special presentation about social network safety and bullying with Paul Davis on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:30 pm at SPB. Mr. Davies will also give two presentations during the day for our students that morning next week.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Best!

Bikes at SPB

To encourage students to bike to school and to have a safe place for them to park their bikes, we have made the inner courtyard available for bike storage. Students are allowed to enter the school building through the back door and push (not cycle) their bikes through the building into the inner courtyard. The bikes will need to be placed between the fence and the cafeteria wall. The bikes will not be accessible until the end of the day and no students are allowed in the bike storage area during the day.
