Welcome (Back) to SPB

This week we were excited to welcome almost 150 grade 6 students to Senator Patrick Burns and welcomed back 600 more students in grades 7 – 9. That atmosphere of excitement around the start of a new academic year was palpable, and I had the pleasure of walking into many classrooms where students were getting to know their new classmates and teachers. We intentionally put emphasis on Orgullo Bronco Pride – reconnecting with the SPB Bronco Spirit and creating a sense of belonging. This theme will continue next week with our first Orgullo Bronco Pride Spirit week of the year. Students will be encouraged to wear their Bronco Gear or any shade of blue to show their belonging to SPB. If you have a look at our Instagram account @spbbroncos_cbe you will find a picture of all staff in their Bronco gear – we would love to see the whole school blue with proud Broncos.

With the increased numbers of students, we are experiencing higher classroom numbers. We have already hired amazing new Spanish speaking teachers to support all students.
