Physical Education

Physical Education supports you in acquiring skills through a variety of developmentally appropriate movement activities. You will gain experience within various physical activities assisting you in further understanding health and wellness benefits, promoting positive interactions and leading an active lifestyle.

Our Goal

Our goal in Physical Education is to have our students actively involved in a variety of activities that will promote their overall health and wellness.

At Sherwood School, we run a module-based program which allows students to choose the activity they participate in.  This encourages students to take ownership over their activity of choice, and increases participation and engagement.

Gym Procedures

Students are required to change for P.E. classes. The expectation is that students are wearing active wear which allows them to move freely. Students are expected to wear different clothing than they wore to school.

Lockers / Locker rooms

Students are provided their own lock to use a gym locker for their P.E. period only.

The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items so please don’t bring valuables into locker rooms. Cell phones are not permitted in change rooms or in the gym.

Injury or Illness

Students will be excused from P.E. if they have a note from parent or guardian.

An alternate assignment(s) may be required.
