Dear Parents/Guardians,
SVS student enrollment in our Kindergarten program has been higher than initial numbers projected in June last spring. Our initial organisation for learning planned on three Kindergarten classrooms but current enrollment will require an addition of a fourth classroom in the am timeslot (3 am kindergarten classes and 1 pm class). To facilitate the addition of a fourth Kindergarten class we will need to shift instructional spaces and redeploy staff.
As of Monday, September 27, 2021:
Ms. Bond/Eliopoulos Rm. 25 will be joining Ms. Cook in Rm. 10. This room has housed double classrooms for the past five years from grade six to grade one. Entry and dismissal doors will remain the same to maintain routines and safety for the grade one students.
Ms. Webb will be redeployed as the new Kindergarten classroom teacher in Rm. 25 during the morning time slot. She will be joining the Kindergarten team for the virtual parent conferences on Thursday September 23 and on Friday September 24, 2021.
Ms. Wiskar has been hired to be the classroom teacher in grade 2 Rm. 12 for the reminder of the 2021/2022 school year. Ms. Wiskar will be joining the grade 2 team for the virtual parent conferences on Thursday Sept 23 and Friday September 24, 2021.
Ms. Turvey/Sinden will continue to work as a double classroom on the DLC floor space with breakout space available still in the loft area using a school wide sign out process.
These changes are going to make a positive impact on student learning success and well-being.
