Summer Message

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, parents and staff for their flexibility, persistence and support throughout this school year.  This year our school community has faced restructuring of classrooms to reflect current financial realities within our school and finding ways to support all learners.  Students have continued to learn at home with the support of their parents and online teaching focused on literacy and mathematics essential learnings during the public health crisis.

Staff have been busy preparing our building and classrooms to meet the new health measure guidelines for fall re entry to school.  Our hope is that classes will resume with near normal conditions in September.  Please look for specific announcements from the Minister of Education on August first for confirmation of re-entry be it as usual, hybrid alternating days and cohorts of students or continuation of at home online learning.

Teachers will be contacting students during the first three operational days August 27-28 and  September 1 to introduce themselves. Our office will be open starting Monday August 24th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm by appointment to assist with registration and answer any questions regarding lunch, bussing and admissions.

On behalf of the staff at SVS, I wish all our students and families a safe and healthy summer break.  We look forward to seeing all your friendly smiling faces in September.
