| Hello SWL Families, Our Remembrance Day Assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10. This is a formal assembly undertaken in every school in Canada providing a time to gather and honour those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Please ensure your student is in formal uniform for this assembly; this shows respect and demonstrates character and citizenship, the tenants of our TLC program. Thank you to the many teachers and students who put considerable thought and time into this assembly. Lest we Forget. This is a very good time to check your child's grades in PowerSchool. Teachers are finishing current units of study and summative grades are being entered. Time remains for students who wish to demonstrate their understanding and improve their scores in advance of Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences scheduled for November 24-26. We will host conferences virtually this year as per COVID guidelines and the positive feedback we received from parents. Sadly, wrestling has been cancelled for the 2021-22 school year in response to COVID and the transmission risks associated with close contact and physical exertion. Thank you to our athletic department who have decided to offer drop in basketball to keep our students healthy and active. The school cafeteria is up and running and the vending machines are back in operation. Students are really enjoying an opportunity to buy healthy snacks and our famous lightning burgers (beef, veggie or chicken). Thank you to the parents who attended our first School/Parent Council Meeting in October. Your work does a great deal to support our school community. Enjoy the rest of your week. Mr. Martin
