Guidance Counsellors have worked hard to balance all student timetables for the 2021-22 school year. Student schedules are subject to change through the summer. While student timetables will retain the same courses, the specific order of courses and corresponding teachers may change.
Timetable Change Requests
Students will have the opportunity to request a change to their timetable in late August-early September. It is important to note that very few changes will be granted as timetables have been balanced and we are not able to entertain changes to complementary classes in the Fall.
Change Request Form
- Grade 12 – August 25
- Grade 11 – August 26
- Grade 10 – August 30
- Submit to: Mr. Fullerton
An email will be sent with an attached Course Change Request Form (fillable form). The dates are listed above. All Course Change Request Forms are to be emailed to Mr. Fullerton at firstname.lastname@example.org. If a student makes a course change request that is appropriate, it will be sent on to their guidance counsellor for consideration, and Mr. Fullerton will notify the student that the request has been sent on. If a request cannot be considered, Mr. Fullerton will provide notice of this to the student. Please do not email your counsellor directly to request changes to your timetable.
The deadline to submit the Course Change Request Form to Mr. Fullerton is Tuesday, September 7. An email will be sent home on Tuesday, September 7 to remind students that the last day to submit a change request form is Wednesday, September 8. Students will send the form directly to their guidance counsellor once that email has been sent. No further student requested changes will be entertained after Wednesday, September 8.
Classes at Churchill are full; therefore it is difficult for counsellors to adjust timetables. Please be sure that you adhere to the guidelines below before submitting a request.
- All schedules are subject to change.
- Requests to change teachers will only be considered if the student has previously completed a class with that same teacher. If you have not completed a class with a teacher you may not request a change. Student requests to be in a specific teacher's class cannot be granted.
- Teaching assignments often change, the teacher listed on your timetable may not be the teacher when the class begins.
- Courses cannot be moved to different periods due to extra-curricular student commitments and/or spare preferences. Students are expected to be available to attend all periods during the school day.
- Counsellors will only contact you if there are questions regarding your schedule. Please be patient and check PowerSchool often for changes to your schedule.
- If your counsellor needs to see you in person to discuss timetable concerns, a placeholder called "See Counsellor" will be added to your schedule. Only those students will be seen during the first 3 days of school. If you have a “See Counsellor” on your schedule, please come down to Student Services in the period that needs to be changed or your spare only. You should be attending all other classes
TIMETABLES WILL BE SET AFTER September 8, 2021
Finally Football is back! We are really excited that we have finally been given the go ahead for football in the fall. This will be a unique year with a few changes, but the good news is we are back on the field! Football kicks off a little earlier as we need to make use of all the practice time we can. Athletes who previously played please check Hudl throughout the summer as this will be our way of communicating. New grade 10 students and students who did not play 2 years ago, but want to please email me with questions. Practices starting in August are open to all new grade 10 students and grade 11 & 12 students. No playing experience is required so if you have any interest in playing come check it out. We will be a division 2 team within the city of Calgary, many of the athletes you will be playing against have no or limited experience in football so it is a very level playing field.
- Helmet/Equipment Pick-up @ Churchill (Come to the back field)
- August 25 @ 2:00
- Practice @ 3:30/4:00 (practice will be approximate 90 minutes)
- Practice will be helmets and jersey only (make sure you have cleats)
We understand that starting yearly may pose some issues with your summer plans, but we are hopeful you are able to make it. The more athletes we have the better. Please try to be there! Please spread the word to your friends and potential football players. With a year away from football, football start up is crucial for our program to find success. We will practice Wednesday August 25, 26, 27 and September 1 & 2. These are all days before school official starts. Again these days are very important for our team!
If you can not make it but are interested in playing get in contact with me. This will help us get an idea of our numbers, but please make an effort to be there. We can not wait to get back on the field,
Coach Slaght (Churchill) – email@example.com
