Welcome Back Somerset Strong!

Oki Somerset School Families,

We are extremely excited to greet students for the first day of school Thursday, September 1st.

Below are a few notes about school start up:

Somerset School Calendar, Kindergarten to Grade 4, is available on the school website and can be found HERE.  School hours are located at the bottom of the calendar with Soft Entry beginning at 8:15am.

First Day of School Email from Teachers – Individual teachers will be emailing their students/families a class specific email on Monday, August 29th in the afternoon.  This email will contain information about class meeting spots, entry and exit doors for that grade/class, a picture of the teacher and specific information needed to get the first day off to a great start.  Please watch for this email.

First Day of School Phone Call from Teachers – Individual teachers will be calling their students/families on Tuesday, August 30th in the afternoon.  This phone call will repeat the information about class meeting spots, entry and exit doors for that class shared in the previous days email in addition to provide families the opportunity to share any addition information to ensure a success first week of school for students. 

School Supplies – all student supplies are provided by the school.  Students only need to bring with them an appropriately sized backpack, indoor shoes, healthy snack and water bottle (if they choose) and their lunch (if students are staying for lunch.)  Additional information regarding Staying for Lunch can be found HERE.

MyCBE PowerSchool – can be found HERE.  Information on how to set up your My CBE Account can be found HERE.

School Office – the office will be open beginning Monday, August 29th at 10:00am.  Our daily office hours are from 8:00am – 4:00pm. Our school phone number is 403-777-7001.

  • Friday, September 9th – Bottle Drive Fundraiser through School Council
  • Wednesday, September 21st - Terry Fox Run
  • Sept. 12th to Oct. 6th – Soccer Residency
  • Friday, September 23rd (all day – no school for students) - Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Friday, September 30th – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – no school for students
