Principal's Message

Principal Winter Message

"We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light". Mary DunbarLast week, students had the opportunity to spend some virtual time with Saa'kokoto to hear his teachings of the Winter Solstice.  He spoke of the returning light and warmth of the sun as a celebration of the Winter Solstice on December 21. We wish all our families all the best as the new season and New Year approaches. At Sundance, we have had a December filled with school activities and events that continue to build on creating a culture of peace, kindness and resilience. It was wonderful to see our students sharing family traditions, writing stories and participating in our December spirit weeks. The winter break is here and we know our holiday season will look different this year.  We would like to thank the school community who generously donated to the Mayor’s Food Bank Drive in December and for making a difference in the lives of others.  Thank you for your continued support, generosity, and kindness.  In Appreciation:I want to thank Sundance Parent Association for supporting our annual Holiday Breakfast.  Although we would have preferred to celebrate face to face we so appreciate everyone for making this event a special one for our students despite the pandemic. Thank you to our School Council Social Committee for working alongside our Teacher Spirit Committee to plan various events and resources throughout the month of December.  I appreciate the fact that Lou Q. was able to find enough mandarin oranges and special treats for each of our students for the Holiday Breakfast. Also thank you to our lunchroom supervisors who kindly packaged the treats for quarantining for each classroom.  Together we are stronger and better together.  See the link for what has been happening in the hallways during December: From the hallways at SundanceOnline Learning:Online classes for Sundance will begin on Monday, January 4, 2021.
