Nov 13

It is already November. We held our Remembrance Day ceremony this month and our student choir, student speakers, audience members and a special Grade 11 guest from John G. Diefenbaker High School shared a respectful tribute to the fallen soldiers.  Learning in the classrooms took place leading up to the ceremony.

Student voice met and chose the virtue for the month. This month’s virtue is Persistence. Persistence is also part of our school logo. Persistence is being purposeful and steadfast. It is sticking to something, staying committed, no matter how long it takes or what obstacles appear to stop you. When we are persistent, we stay friends even when the friendship is tested. We do not give up until a solution to the problem is found.  When you commit yourself to a task, pace yourself, and be persistent. Do the task step-by-step. “Success comes in cans. Failure comes in can’ts”  Fred Seely

Welcome back Thorncliffe Students! We hope you enjoyed winter break and your first day of online learning. January 8, is a PD day, so there will be no classes. We are excited to see students in person on January 11.

Students in the Grade 5 and 6 class are analyzing and finding patterns to start off their Patterns and Relations topic!

Our Grade 5 and 6 students created an encouragement and affirmation bulletin board for the students and staff.

Our grade 1 & 2 Ss took on a leadership role and decorated the school tree. Was I ever surprised by their creativity! Who doesn’t love a giant peach as a tree topper?

RT @yyCBEdu: Friday, Dec. 4 is a system-wide non-instructional day. There are no classes for CBE students – this includes in-person, at-home and Hub online learning. Enjoy the beautiful weather and please continue to follow all public health measures #WeAreCBE
