As we come of the official final days of the school year, we would like to remind families who do not plan to attend Valley Creek School next year to please send us an email to ensure our enrollment numbers are correct. We want to have your son or daughter attached to the proper school for the fall. Thank you.
The cafeteria is now closed. Limited quantities of milk, water, muffins and frozen treats will be for sale. Please be sure your student has a lunch Monday and Tuesday.
Year-end report cards will be available to view online Tuesday, June 28 through MyCBE/PowerSchool. Once logged in, select the “Report Card" tab to view the report card. If a printed report card is required, you may send a self-addressed, stamped 8 ½ x 11 envelope to school, and we will mail home your hard copy.
We have come to the end of yet another COVID challenging school year. I sincerely thank parents/guardians for your continued support, patience, and compassionate understanding throughout this school year. We look forward to returning to our regular routines in the fall and welcoming our parents back to in-person meetings, conferences and celebrations!
We say goodbye to the families and staff leaving us and moving on to new adventures. We will dearly miss Mr. Guillaume Comeau as our Assistant Principal and wish him every success as Principal at Chinook Park next fall. We sadly have several teachers leaving us as well, Ms. Claire Lodge, Ms. Natalie Roy, Ms. Katie Bidulock, Ms. Cassidy Jones and Mr. Jordan Carr. The new schools who receive them will be lucky to have their gifts and talents. We thank them for their dedication and commitment to our Valley Creek students.
Next fall, we will be welcoming new staff and students into two System Special Education programs, CSSI and TASC.
The Communication, Sensory, Social Interaction (CSSI) class supports students with multiple and complex learning, behaviour and communication needs in grades 7-9. Students receive modified programming and functional curriculum related to the development of functional academics, social communication, regulation, independence, daily living, and leisure, pre-vocational and volunteering skills.
The Teaching Attitude, Social Skills and Communication (TASC) class are for students who require significant learning, adaptive behaviour, and physical support. Students receive modified programming and functional curriculum related to social communication, play and leisure, daily living, safety, regulation, independence, and pre-vocational skills.
We look forward to welcoming all of our new and returning students to a brand new school year in September. Please check our school website for our Back to School message. The first day of school for all students is Thursday, September 1. Doors will be opened at 7:45 am. Families will be able to see their student's homeroom teacher in PowerSchool later in August.
On behalf of all staff at Valley Creek, we wish you and your family a wonderful, fun-filled summer vacation!
