Where we have been and where we are going...Donde hemos estado y a donde vamos...
This term Students and their new Spanish as a Second Language teacher have taken some time to get to know each other. We have focused on the students’ knowledge and skills in the following topics: "Presentaciones" (All about me), "A mi me gusta…" (communicating likes and dislikes) and "Diversidad y platos tradicionales " (diversity and traditional foods). Students had the opportunity to explore, rehearse and scaffold their use of vocabulary and expressions in multiple ways by practicing oral communication, preparing an iconic Latin-American dish (arepas), and getting to know more about the geography and history of Hispanic cultures.
Our focus is to promote the students understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
