​One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.​​

Parent Society

Our Parent Society is Known as West Dalhousie Parents Association (WDPA)

The West Dalhousie Parents Association (WDPA) is a registered society established by the parents of the students of West Dalhousie School for the purpose of raising funds for the school. These funds are raised by sponsoring casinos approximately every 18-21 months. The monies raised by the WDPA are used to support the school in the following ways:

  • artists-in-residence
  • computers,
  • library resources,
  • curriculum supplies and equipment,
  • field trips
  • playground (built in September 2015)

The WDPA is run by four parent volunteers and all parents at West Dalhousie School are members!  

Meeting Dates/Schedule

West Dalhousie Parents Association are usually hosted every second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Learning Commons or online ( depending on the situation).
