Dear West Springs Families,

We have several noteworthy events coming up next week, as we approach the winter break. Some of these events will include grade - hosted assemblies Monday through Wednesday where students and their teachers have collaborated to lead each other through some singing of their choice of carols and songs. Host grades are in grades 2, 3 and 4. Please refer to your classroom teacher's email for when your childi(ren)'s grade group is leading the rest of the school, if applicable. We will also come together for our annual game of “Jingo” where we work on our numbers and have some fun as a whole school over the intercom. As previously announced, there will also be a sharing assembly for Drum Fit. An email was sent from Ms. Wright earlier this week that contains more information and your invitation to join. Please watch for your classroom teacher's email for scheduling information as well.

The generosity and kindness of our school community was once again on display this week as the mountain of donations received for the “Magic of Christmas” campaign and charity grew the Grinch’s heart until it burst. A sincere thank you to everyone for supporting this initiative and representing West Springs School in such a positive and meaningful way. I could hear students making comments about how wonderful it feels to know that our school has contributed to making this holiday season a little brighter for families in need. Check out our website next week for some photos of all the toys and gifts we will be donating.

Have a great weekend! It is expected to be very cold next week so we are planning some fun activities for our indoor lunch and recess times for the week to keep students regulated and active while indoors.
