Back to School Information

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Thursday, September 1 and the school office is open to parents on Monday, August 29, 2022.


The first day for kindergarten will be a staggered entry on Thursday, September 1.  There will be 2 sessions in the morning and 2 sessions in the afternoon.  Parents will receive their time information in August once our office is re-opened.  Our kindergarten program runs Monday - Thursday, and kindergarten students will not attend on Fridays.  

Morning kindergarten:  9:08 am -12:16 pm

Afternoon kindergarten:  12:32 pm - 3:40 pm

Hours:  Grades 1 to 4: 9:08 AM – 3:40 PM;

Lunch Break:  Grades 3 & 4 - 11:50 am-12:40 pm and Grades 1 & 2 - 12:50 pm -1:40  pm


Grades 1 to Grade 4: 9:08 AM - 12:50;  No school for kindergarten students

School Supplies

School supplies are purchased for students in bulk by the school.  Fees to pay for this may be done on your MyCBE / PowerSchool account.  Fees are $40 Grades 1-4 and $20 for Kindergarten students.

All students are required to have a back pack and lunch bag (if applicable). Indoor running shoes are brought to school the first day and left at school. Many backpacks and shoes look alike; please completely label all student items.

Lunch Supervision

A lunch supervision program will be provided Monday to Thursday this year and fees will be based on a four-day program. We will share information with parents once we have specific details about Lunch Supervision Fees and registration for 2022-2023

When available, online registration and fee payment can be made through MyCBE.

It’s important to know that we have a waiver process for families who can’t afford to pay the fees.

This year our Grade 3 & 4 students have as staggered lunch hour which starts at 11:50.  Grade 3's eat inside from 11:50--12:15 and then have outdoor play from 12:15-12:40 pm;  the grade 4's have outdoor play at 11:50-12:15 pm and then eat lunch at inside from 12:15-12:40 pm. 

Our Grade 1 & 2 students lunch hour is 12:50-1:40.  Grade 1's eat first in their classrooms from 12:50-1:15 and then have outdoor play from 1:15-1:40 pm;  the grade 2's have outdoor play from 12:50-1:15 and then eat in their classrooms from 1:15-1:40.

Assigned Classes

Families of registered students will receive an email from each student’s classroom teacher the day prior to school beginning. Instructions for where to meet the teacher before class on September 1st will be included in the email.

Our school office opens on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022 for registration.  

Please note our office hours are Monday - Thursday 8:30-4:00 pm and Fridays 8:30-1:00 pm.

​​​Do You Have a MyCBE Account? Have You Added Your Child(ren) To the Account?

Parents / Legal Guardians / Independent Students who have not already done so, must create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) to the account to:

  • access your child’s program information (e.g., course assessments, daily attendance record, report card)
  • view your child’s learning using Brightspace by D2L
  • pay fees and request waivers
  • register for transportation and lunch ​supervision
  • book parent-teacher conferences
  • submit online school forms (required for 2022-23 school year)

You will need your email address on file at the school as well as your child’s CBE ID, which can be found on the:

  • SchoolEngage student profile, for families that registered their child using SchoolEngage.

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2022-23 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
