Congratulations goes out to Jonathan Z. for being selected as a Schulich Leader at the University of Waterloo. Jonathan will receive $100 000 in scholarship funding!!!

Jonathan was also the recipient for the University of Toronto Book Award. Way to go Jonathan!

The Calgary Calabrian Cultural and Heritage Society Scholarship is awarded once yearly to two students of Calabrian decent. This $2000 award has a late application deadline of September 30, 2022.

UCBeyond Scholarship Program helps Canadian students who have rheumatic diseases reach their educational ambitions. Eight students are selected each year to receive up to $5000 each. The application deadline has been extended to June 18, 2022.

If you attended Rideau Park last year and have not picked up your yearbook, they are available for pick up at Rideau Park School in the main office.

Honour Society Celebration – Main Gym - 6:30 pm Wednesday June 8th

Grade 10-12 honour society qualifiers wishing to come to the celebration to receive their certificates in front of family and friends should RSVP asap in the main office (there are RSVP slips in the office).  Bring your $15 to pay for your medallion if you are a Grade 12 lifetime honour society member.

If you can’t make it on June 8th you can come pick up your certificate starting during the morning tutorial and lunch on Thursday June 9th right outside the main office in the front foyer.  Lines will be long on the first day but you can always get it the following week. 

**If there is no one out in the front foyer, we are not handing out certificates at that particular time.**

Opportunity to Voice your Opinion about Your Medical Treatment The Cumming School of Medicine wants to talk to students about Barriers to Medical Care for Immigrants and Refugees. Students (and their families) in grades 10 – 12 who would like to participate in an information gathering Focus Group occurring every Tuesday and Thursday July 5 – August 25, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. can register at or get further information at  A Poster is on the Guidance Door.

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada are offering fifteen $5000 scholarships to students living with Crohn’s Disease or ulcerative colitis. For more information:

De Beers Group Scholarship for Canadian Women are offering a minimum of ten scholarships in excess valued at $4500 each for young women entering into STEM related degrees. Preference is given to Indigenous women as well as women from four regions in Canada, one of which is Southern Alberta. For more information:

Summer School Course Enrollment Notification:

Students who requested a summer school course with CBE will be notified by CBE-learn (online) or Chinook Learning Services (in-person) the week of June 6 to June 10 whether they have been enrolled in a course.

Grade 12 Students:

  • If you did not purchase a BANQUET ticket and were waitlisted -- you have Wednesday at 4:30 to get registered
  • Go to RM181 before or after school to see Mr. Smith - bring your credit card information to get registered for Banquet.
  • There will be NO SALES after that date. 
  • Please ensure that all school fees are paid. 

Canadian Blood Services is inviting students to make a lifesaving difference this summer. Open the door to an exciting opportunity by participating in the Assignment Saving Lives Scholarship Program.  

 How does it work?  

The Assignment: Recruit 10 blood donors between June 1st and September 5th, 2022. Participants who are successful in recruiting 10 or more donors who have attended their appointments during the program timeframe have a chance to win a scholarship to help pay for their education. 

 The Assignment Saving Lives Scholarship program is making a significant impact in the community by recruiting blood donors. This unique program offers students the opportunity to win scholarship prizes up to $3000.00 to be applied towards Post-Secondary tuition fees for those who are enrolled to attend no later than January 31st, 2023. Participants will gain hands-on experience, developing leadership, project management and communication skills. Registration is now open until July 31, 2021.

The University of Toronto will be providing Webinars for grade 10 and 11 students (and their families!) who are at the early stages of their post-secondary exploration process.  They are sharing tips for navigating their options, give an overview of the University of Toronto and provide some admissions basics. While the session will be focused on U of T, much of the information will be applicable to Ontario universities more broadly.

A new camp for young women and girls who are interested in becoming first responders, has been launched in Calgary..

From July 4 to July 10, 2022, 24 girls and young women aged 15 to 18, will be attending the seven-day camp. Participants of Camp Courage will learn from inspiring guest speakers, fitness professionals and women who are currently serving as first responders, on how they too can become a first responder and fulfill their dreams.

Camp Courage sessions will offer basic skills and knowledge to help participants learn more about what life is like as a first responder, and provide connections to current police officers, firefighters and paramedics.

Applications will be accepted until May 15th. Instead of a fee, organizers ask the interested candidates to detail how they can positively contribute to their community or make a positive impact on an individual in their community upon completion of the camp.
