As we approach the end of the 2022-2023, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation and reflect on the wonderful times we have experienced together. It has been a year filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of joy that have left an unforgettable mark on each and every one of us.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my gratitude to our incredible students. Their curiosity, and enthusiasm have truly made our school a vibrant and inspiring place to be. Following societal hardships in recent years, they have shown resilience, adaptability, and a hunger for knowledge that continues to impress us. Their achievements, particularly in a second language environment, are a testament to their hard work and dedication.
To our exceptional teachers and staff, I want to express my deepest gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the education and well-being of our students. Their passion, collegiality, creativity, and tireless efforts have created a safe and caring environment where every child feels valued and supported. Their dedication to fostering a love of learning has made a lasting impact on our students' lives, and I am truly grateful for the dedication they bring to our school community.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the support and trust of our parents and guardians. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration have been instrumental in our collective success. Whether it was volunteering in classrooms, attending parent-teacher conferences, contributing to fundraising events, or joining our school wide celebrations such as Carnavale or Gator Fest, your partnership has been invaluable. Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education and for being an integral part of our school family.
As we look back, we can't help but acknowledge the unique challenges we have faced together. The COVID-19 pandemic presented obstacles that none of us could have anticipated, and yet, we emerged stronger and more resilient. I was very grateful to see a great extent of normalcy return this year, and many school events attracting hundreds of members of school community. The support and cooperation of students, staff and parents has been remarkable, and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together.
As we bid farewell to our Grade 6 students, who are moving on to new adventures in Grade 7, and prepare for a well-deserved summer break, I would like to celebrate their growth and achievements. I hope they continue to cherish the friendships made, the knowledge gained, and the memories created. These students have played an integral role in making this school year and previous years memorable.
I encourage all members of the school community to take some time during the summer to relax, rejuvenate, and spend quality time with friends and family. Read books, explore nature, and engage in joyful adventures. We look forward to next school year, as we prepare for yet another exciting educational journey when we reconvene.
Thank you, once again, for being an essential part of our school community. Your unwavering support, collaboration, and dedication make our school an extraordinary place to learn and grow. On behalf of the entire Westgate family, I wish you a safe, joyful, and memorable summer.
With warmest regards,
Julie Muhlberger
