I hope this message finds you well and excited for another wonderful school year together at Westgate School. The summer break has flown by as always, and it's time to gear up for a new chapter of learning, growth and fun! I spent the month of July in Besançon, France, practicing my French and learning more about the language and culture. I had an amazing time and I look forward to sharing my learning with students and staff.
I would like to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all our returning families. Your ongoing support and dedication to your child's education and our school is so appreciated and we can't wait to continue this journey with you.
To our new families, we extend an extra special welcome. We are thrilled to have you join the Westgate Gator family, and we're confident that your child will settle in quickly, make friends, and be successful in our warm, collaborative and engaging environment.
As we approach this academic year, rest assured that the safety, well-being, and education of your children remain our top priorities. Our exceptional staff work diligently to prepare engaging lesson plans, plan exciting activities, and provide a supportive atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of French and learning. Some of our teachers have been working during the summer on new curriculum implementation. This year we will be implementing K-3 Science, 4-6 Math and ELA, and piloting 4-6 FIL (Français Immersion et Littérature)
Throughout the year, we encourage open communication between home and school. Whether you have questions, suggestions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We firmly believe that a strong relationship between the school and families greatly benefits the students.
