Westgate Learning Commons

With the support of Education Matters, Westgate's Library is being transformed into a learning commons which is a collaborative space that engages our bilingual learners to intentionally innovate, inquire, imagine and play. It is a place where critical thinkers will expand and deepen their learning as they evolve into global citizens.

Transforming our current library space into a learning commons has provided our school with an area where the students can engage in projects that are student centered, that promote higher order thinking and that allow them to engage in participatory collaborative learning.

The CBE's mission is to have each student leave with a foundation of learning necessary to thrive in life, work and continued learning. We believe that our learning commons is a space that is reflective of our current philosophies and is designed for learning of today.
