Principal Year End Message

Dear Abbeydale School Families,

As we look back at this school year, I'm reminded of the incredible work that parents, students and the staff at Abbeydale school have done. Beginning this year, in the midst of a pandemic brought with it a new set of protocols and practices to ensure the safety of all. From mask wearing, to hand sanitizing to reorganizing how we set up classrooms and move in the building. This year has been one that is like no other and throughout all the uncertainty and change, we have continued to work together to provide support, encouragement and, most importantly, focus on caring for students – their well-being and their learning. On top of the changes that Covid has brought, Abbeydale saw staffing changes, as we said farewell to Mr. Bennett and Mrs. Wright and welcomed Mrs. Crane and myself. We know that change is not always easy and this year has brought its fair share. It's amazing to think of the journey we've had this year and the tremendous resiliency that our community has shown.

Summer will soon be upon us and couldn't come at a better time for students and for our staff. We encourage the families of Abbeydale to use this time to connect with one another. Read together, play together, share experiences together and talk with one another. As the world slowly starts to open back up, we encourage you to enjoy time with your child/ren and do so reflecting with a spirit of gratitude. As a new member to this community, I'm so impressed with the work that has already been done and the culture that has been established. I'm appreciative for a parent community that is supportive and welcoming. I'm thankful for a student body that is friendly and excited for opportunities to learn. I'm extremely grateful for a staff that has taken on so much behind the scenes and continue to support one another and students in the face of uncertainty and constant challenges.

I want to thank everyone for all that you've done to contribute to this year being a success. We hope that all Abbeydale families enjoy a safe and wonderful summer and we look forward to welcoming students back on August 17th.
