Students Leaving/Returning to School During School Hours

All late students, regardless of reason, must sign-in at the front desk and stamp their hand prior to returning to class.
Parents are encouraged to send a note with their child to gain permission to leave during school hours for appointments, likewise to explain a student’s late or absence. It is imperative students obtain parental per-mission and this permission must be relayed by the parent to the office staff via a telephone call to the attendance line, email or by physically coming into the office to sign your child out. Students are not allowed to leave the school otherwise.

Emails can be sent to Mrs. Burrill mrburrill@cbe.ab.ca.

All parents are required to come into the school office and sign their child out.

When to Send A Note

  • To leave the school for any reason;
  • To excuse a late;
  • To inform Phys. Ed. Staff of an injury limiting participation.

Lockdowns

All CBE schools are required to practice lockdowns in the same way that we practice fire drills. The procedures for lockdowns are developed with the Calgary Police Service and are part of each school’s Emergency Response Plan. If you have questions about lockdown drills or lockdown procedures, please contact your principal.

Evacuation Procedures

In the event that the school needs to be evacuated for any reason, all staff have been trained according to CBE standards. All schools have a primary and a secondary evacuation site. In the event of an evacuation, you will receive an email, phone or SMS notification from the school.
