The A.E. Cross School Council and Parents' Association is pleased to be offering fun lunches again this year! Popular with many of our students, the program offers an opportunity for students to have a ‘fun’ lunch once a month and also generates a small profit to be used to fund school initiatives through School Council/AECPA. The lunches will be managed through Healthy Hunger, which many of you will be familiar with from elementary school. If you have an account already, you can use the same one. If not, please follow this link to register: https://healthyhunger.ca
What’s different during COVID-19? Healthy Hunger has taken special precautions under its new “Safe Lunch Program" to help limit exposure to COVID-19, including: vendors must pass Healthy Hunger's COVID-19 protocols in order to be an approved vendor and all delivery drivers are required to pass a daily health check. Teachers will hand out the lunches during period 3 (right before lunch) since the CBE does not permit volunteers in the school at this time.
How to Order? All instructions are provided on https://healthyhunger.ca. You can use an existing account if you have one. If not, you can register on the website. NOTE: When ordering lunches, you must choose your child's homeroom teacher (they now eat in their homeroom).
Our first Fun Lunch will be A & W on November 4th, 2020 and orders will close on October 29th. The remainder of the fun lunches for semester 1 are:
— Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020 - EDO
— Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 - Mucho Burrito
— Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 - Boston Pizza
Prices vary depending on what you order; all prices are noted on the order form. Please note that refunds will not be given if your student is ill and/or away from school on a fun lunch day. Should school be closed due to COVID-19 like it abruptly was in March 2020, we will do our best to cancel all fun lunches; however, reimbursement of funds or refunds is the responsibility of Healthy Hunger and out of our control.

The cafeteria eating area will be closed until further notice.
We strongly discourage students from leaving the campus at lunch.
However, if your parents allow you to go off our property during the lunch hour, please conduct yourself appropriately within the community or you could lose off-campus privileges. Students who leave campus must follow the Physical distancing 2-meter protocols.
