First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Wednesday September 1 and the school office is open to parents on Thursday August 26 2021.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021 and Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 8:20 am teachers will be outside with complete class lists to meet their own students and to help direct children to their designated classes.  New students arriving to register should proceed directly to the school office upon arrival.

The office will be open for information and inquiries on Thursday August 26 at 9:00 AM.

Kindergarten Staggered Entry

Kindergarten is the beginning of children's educational journey and we want to ensure that every child has a positive and successful “first day” experience. One of the ways we do this is by having a staggered entry at the start of the school year for Kindergarten children. On Kindergarten staggered entry days half the children attend and the other half stays home.

Kindergarten parents, please check the dates below for child's staggered entry date and time.

Wednesday September 1st               12:35 PM – 3:23 PM      All students with surnames beginning A through H.

Thursday September 2nd                  12:35 PM – 3:23 PM      All students with surnames beginning I through Z

Friday September 3rd                         8:35 AM – 11:30 AM      All Kindergarten students attend.

Please do not pay lunchroom fees online to the CBE.

School Supplies

Student school supplies are ordered by teachers and paid by parents online to CBE (Gr. 1-6 $40.00; Kindergarten $20.00) using your My CBE account. At Alexander Ferguson School, an Enhanced Art Fee ($31.50) is also charged to provide access to art supplies supporting our Arts focus throughout the curriculum.

Additionally, students will need a pair of indoor shoes to wear inside the school. Shoes for Physical Education should provide good support and have non-marking soles. A backpack to carry school work, snack, and lunch to and from school is also recommended.
