Regarding Class Placements for the 2022-23 School Year

In the new school year your child will be assigned to a classroom. All students will receive notification from their teacher on the Labour Day weekend. If we are able to, we will continue to plan and welcome our complex learners to school on August 31, as outlined in their transition plan in their IPP, to meet their new teacher. This will be dependent on government provided guidelines at the time.

Working in grade-level teams, our staff members take into consideration many variables when assigning your child to his/her classroom. They include demographics such as age and gender, maturation, abilities and talents, and relationships amongst the students to create the best overall groupings. Please be assured our decisions are based on the best interest of your child and their unique academic, social and behavioural needs within the school context.  If you require clarification about the process, please feel free to contact administration prior to June 1, 2022.

Teachers use a weekly school messenger email to communicate on a regular basis with parents about the work that students are engaged with during school time. Parents are also encouraged to contact their child’s teacher whenever a question or concern arises. Email addresses are linked through each teachers name.
