For example, fire drill evacuations are scheduled throughout the year at different times of day and in different seasons. This supports emergency preparedness and confidence in these practices. Next week, on Friday, October 23, students and staff will participate in a practice lockdown drill. In preparation for this drill, teachers will have class discussions to provide context and clear expectations for students. School Resource Officer, Constable Kevin Courchesne, will be present for this drill to act as an advisor.Dressing for the WeatherThis has been a truly beautiful fall season that has enabled students and staff to engage in outdoor learning and play under blue skies and warm weather. As the weather turns to cooler conditions, we wish to remind students to expect to be outdoors every day, often up to two or three times. For this reason, students are encouraged to come to school equipped to be comfortable in the outdoors with multiple layers, appropriate footwear, mitts and toques as required.Promoting a Safe and Healthy SchoolhouseWe continue to encourage and support students with the following high impact health strategies:Mask Use: Students are required to bring their own personal mask to school everyday.Hand Washing and Sanitizing: Regular hand washing and sanitizing is required by all students and staff throughout the school day.Physical Distancing: Students are learning to maintain physical distance from peers as is possible both in the classroom and the outdoors.Kind Regards,Karen CampbellPrincipal
