Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year

We follow the CBE instructional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

School Supplies

We provide school supplies for our students. Families do not need to purchase supplies for their children.  We do ask that parents send a water bottle, a nutritious snack for recess, and a packed lunch if they stay over the noon hour.  Students will not need to have an indoor pair of shoes until the snow comes.  Please ensure that your child comes to school with shoes that are appropriate for gym class (running shoes).

Transportation

Bussing is not currently provided for Altadore students as all of our students live within the school's walk zone.

School Calendar

View our school calendar page for upcoming events and dates. See the CBE website for system calendars.

Lunch Supervision

There will be lunch supervision provided for students who stay at the school over lunch.  More information will be communicated once school starts.

Classroom Assignments

Teachers will be emailing families to welcome them to their class on the morning of Wednesday, August 30. They will provide you with information about the first day (where to meet, what to bring, etc).  If you have not received an email by 10:00 AM, you are welcome to contact the school office and we will connect you with your child’s teacher.

Teachers have spent many hours and worked extremely hard to make balanced classes for next year and to find the best placement for each child.  They know their students very well and take many, many factors into consideration when creating classes.  Placement requests for friends or for particular teachers will not be considered, unless parents have information we do not have and under the most extreme circumstances.

Save the Dates

  • First Day Coffee – Thursday, August 31 at 8:30 AM.  This is an opportunity for parents to reconnect and to meet new families once the children are in class.  Depending on weather, this will be in the Owl’s Nest or the gym.
  • Welcome Back Picnic - Thursday, September 7 at 5:00 PM.  This is a casual evening designed to build community and provide an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and to get to meet new people.
  • First School Council Meet - Wednesday, September 13 at 6:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to meet other families and get involved in our school community. The meeting is head in the learning commons/library.
  • An Evening with Elder Saa'kokoto - Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30 PM. This is a chance to learn more about Blackfoot culture and what students are learning about them in school.
