Lunchtime

Lunch Program Line: 403-777-6680 ext. 4

It is important that you call the lunchtime program line if your child is absent.

Lunchtime Hours

Lunchtime is 12:05 to 12:50 PM

Our lunch hour is split, older grades go outside for recess for the first half of the lunch hour while the younger students have their lunch and then half way through the lunch hour, we switch. Students can join clubs, or can go outside for recess and play in our terrific school yard. When it’s too cold, we have a plan to keep students inside and still give them a break from the hard work of learning.

Lunch Supervision

The Calgary Board of Education provides students with the option to stay at school for lunch. Lunch Supervision is offered to all students in Grades 1- 6 and in our full-day kindergarten programs for an annual fee. Please visit our Lunch Supervision page for information.

Milk Program

There is no milk program this year.

Fun Lunches

Annie Foote School Council organizes Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches!  You can sign up for an account for your child(ren) on the Healthy Hunger website (select Register Account). The entire ordering and payment process is completed through your account on their website, and then student orders will be delivered to the school just before lunch for Grades 1-6 and at snack time for the kindergarten students.

Every item ordered raises money to help School Council support extra activities and events at Annie Foote School - like year end celebrations, Family Nights, and more.

Please check out the attached file for instructions on setting up your account and registering students. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at afsparentcouncil@gmail.com

Thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts!

Allergies

Please be aware several students have a potentially life-threatening allergy to peanuts. For more information about this and other health concerns visit our Illness & Medical page.

Reheating Food

We are unable to reheat food that children bring for lunch. Many parents, who wish their children to have a hot lunch, send it in a thermos.

Healthy Food Choices

To support their children’s learning and ability to focus, we strongly encourage families to send healthy snacks and lunches with them – fruits, vegetables, and protein such as lean meat, peanut butter, or cheese. Students are limited to water during snack breaks for hygienic reasons, but are able to bring fruit drinks and milk for lunch. See our Health & Wellness page for information about the Good Food Box.
