Music News

Ms. De Jong is already busy planning our concert in December for K-3 students. Each of the concerts this year will be based on a children's books, The Twelve Days of Winter, by Deborah Lee Rose and So Much Snow, by Robert Munsch.

Grade 4 students bring home letters to purchase recorders early in the year.  The recorders we purchase are of good quality and create the same tone, which will enable students to better hear whether they are playing the right notes! At the end of "recorder season" students will be able to take their recorders home.

Music Helpers and Clubs

Both a senior and junior choir meet and will have opportunities to perform during the year. The junior choir did a wonderful job of their song during our Remembrance Day assembly on November 8 and will be going to the Calgary Hitmen Game on December 6 with their families to enjoy a night of hockey and caroling with students from other schools around Calgary.

Students in the music helpers club will be caring for the music environment and instruments so they can better understand how to clean instruments. This will develop responsibility and a shared value for our school property.

Music Practice Link

The link at the top right of this page provides access to a site Ms. De Jong has set up for students to be able to practice songs and music they are working on both in class and in the junior and senior choirs.

Remember! Practice may not make perfect, but it sure does help make you better!
