Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

Planning is underway for what the 2020-21 school year will look like for our students, staff and families. The CBE has created an internal task force with representatives from every service unit to lead the planning for different scenarios. All of our decisions will be guided by the advice of the province’s chief medical officer of health and Alberta Education guidelines. The safety and well being of our students and staff will come first in any decisions we make. More information will be provided to families before the first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

Office Hours

Noon Supervision

..

To support their children’s learning and ability to focus, we strongly encourage families to send healthy snacks and lunches with them – fruits, vegetables, and protein such as lean meat, peanut butter, or cheese. Students are limited to water during snack breaks for hygienic reasons, but are able to bring fruit drinks and milk for lunch. We are a nut aware school - if children have severe allergies, please alert the school and eating areas will be set aside that are nut free.

Assigned Teachers

We do not make class and teacher assignments public in the spring. On the first day of school in the fall, class lists will be posted outside as soon as supervision begins. To help families find their classes, please use the following guide for grade entrances.

Registration Information

Please visit our How to Register page for all registration details and registration forms. Our school office opens on ... for registration.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families after the start of the school year in September and October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

You can find more information on the CBE school fees and waivers page.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2020-21 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

Yellow school bus route maps are posted on the CBE website: www.cbe.ab.ca/busstop

In September, a confirmation email will be sent to all parents/guardians who have submitted a pre-registration, if the parent/guardian has subscribed to receive messages. It will include transportation fee information (if applicable) and payment options (if applicable). Families can cancel their pre-registration with no financial penalty using MyCBE / PowerSchool by Sept. 30, 2020.

More information about 2020-21 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
