Student Services

Student Learning Team (SLT)

If a teacher identifies a student who has particular learning or behavioral needs that they are having difficulty attending to in class, they may ask for an SLT meeting with members of the Leadership Team. The purpose of an SLT is to discuss the strategies or approaches that the teachers has tried with the student which have not achieved the success intended. During meeting, additional strategies will be suggested and/or a referral for additional support from the CBE Area 2 Learning Support Team may be made. Parents will be notified if their child is being discussed as part of a school based SLT and then contacted with the outcome of the next steps. Parents do not attend SLT meetings and can either accept or reject whatever plan the team proposes to support the student and their teacher.
