Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-6120 ext. 1.

Every child is expected to be in school on all designated school days by the CBE, unless illness or personal reasons make attendance impossible. Parents/guardians are required to phone and leave a message on the attendance line before the start of the day, if a child is going to be absent for any reason. When leaving a message, please clearly speak and/or spell your child’s first and last name, their homeroom number, grade and reason for absence. For security purposes, if you do not contact the office to report an absence, the school will contact you. We appreciate your communication as it helps to keep all our students safe.

Lates

Punctuality is expected and is an important life skill. We ask students to arrive on time. Being late has a significant impact on the student’s learning as instruction and educational activities are missed. Teacher time is effected and classmates are interrupted. A letter will be sent home and placed and a copy will be placed in the student’s file. Parents are expected to have plans in place for ensuring their child is at school of time.

Attendance Expectations at the CBE

We believe there is a strong correlation between attendance and effective education. The CBE Administrative Regulation 6020 - Attendance of Students regulation applies to all of our students, and outlines the responsibilities for students, parents and school staff.
