A strong effort has been and will continue to be made to take advantage of the natural connections between these schools that serve the same families in the community. School bell times and calendars are synchronized and staff from both schools meet to ensure the best transitions and learning possible for all students.

The school is named in honour of Sir Frederick Grant Banting and Dr. Charles Herbert Best, Canadian doctors and scientists who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine for one of the most important medical discoveries of our time - the isolation of insulin. While not a cure for diabetes, millions of lives have been saved as a result of Banting and Best's work.
