Conference Dates
Tips for Parents
Before you come to a Parent-Teacher Conference, it is a good idea to prepare in a few simple ways.
You may consider talking about your child's...
- strengths, abilities, interests
- fears or anxieties
- goals for future learning
- other information that may influence classroom learning
Children and parents are encouraged to attend conferences together. There may be instances when “adult only” conversations may be arranged. You may also bring a list of questions/concerns that you want to discuss. Conferences are typically 15 minutes in length and it is easy to get chatting and then forget to discuss something.
Positive comments help us to confirm good practice. Please try to remember that reporting periods are "rest stops" in our discussions with you. A student's career spans a long period of time and it takes time to solve problems.
Working together, we can make effective plans that are in the best interest of all concerned.
Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher at any time if they have a concern or comment about their child’s program or adjustment to school.
