One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Actfor the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Parent Society

What makes a great school? Or rather, who makes a great school? You are the one that can make a difference.

Our Parent Society is Known as: Bishop Pinkham Parents' Association (BPPA)

Who are we and what do we do? BPPA works with the school administration to raise money to fund priority areas that enhance student learning, promote student advocacy and benefit the school community.

BECOME A MEMBER: While every parent or guardian of a student at Bishop Pinkham is automatically a member of School Council, BPPA members are required to complete/submit a new membership form every year: https://bishoppinkhamparents.c...

DONATE: BPPA solicits donations directly from student families in lieu of sending students home with tasks such as door-to-door selling, collecting for specific events or direct selling various products.  These types of activities require significant volunteer commitments and provide relatively limited returns to the BPPA. Please help us avoid the stress of managing these tasks by donating as little as $15/month, which can help us achieve our goals and support our students and teachers. Please go to www.bishoppinkhamparents.com to sign up today. You can choose to designate your gift to the area you are most passionate about (i.e. mental health resources, enrichment programs, new technology, student fund, etc.). All contributions are tax deductible.

VOLUNTEER: We encourage every parent of a BP student to become a member of the BPPA and to consider running for a position on our Board of Directors.  Our Board is elected every year at our AGM which takes place in October. All members of the BPPA are welcome to attend our regular meetings whose dates are announced in the regular weekly school updates sent out to all parents and guardians.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HEALTHY HUNGER PROGRAM: Kids love Fun Lunch. You need a break from making lunches. To register www.healthyhunger.ca

PLEASE JOIN US: Bishop Pinkham School Council and BPPA meetings are held virtually at 6:00pm

Message From Our President

Welcome Back

The Bishop Pinkham Parents Association (BPPA) is excited to welcome you back to a new school year. We hope that you and your children are looking forward to the wonderful learning opportunities and first-class teaching at Bishop Pinkham School.

The BPPA is a volunteer parent association which raises funds to support school requests for outstanding enrichment programs that our school is known for such as band clinicians, artists in residence, wellness symposiums, sport and outdoor education, drama, library and technology resources, Healthy Hunger lunches, Grade 9 farewell and cultural and leadership opportunities. Every activity we sponsor meets the larger school vision, and depends on financial contributions and volunteer time donated by families in our school community. Anyone is welcome to join the BPPA and you can do so by visiting our membership page https://bishoppinkhamparents.c...  And, as always, we encourage anyone who is able to make a https://www.canadahelps.org/en... (either one-time or a recurring monthly contribution) to ensure that we are able to continue to support Bishop Pinkham’s outstanding opportunities for its students.

As you get settled into the new learning year, we’ll be reaching out through the school to let you know of ways you can get involved with us. Our AGM will be held in October, and we look forward to having as many of you join our Association and even run for a position on our Board of Directors! If you’re interested in potentially joining our board, please reach out to us at bishoppinkhamparents@gmail.com and one of us will contact you to provide the information you need and answer any questions you might have.
