I am reaching out to you today to share that I have been appointed as CBE Bilingual Staffing Consultant. I will be moving into my new role this summer. This was a difficult decision and when I considered applying for this position, I first reflected on the impact that my leaving might have. It is clear that our school is in a very strong position right now and I am confident that the great work that has been established will continue.
I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity be Principal of Bob Edwards School. I am especially proud of the work we accomplished in literacy and numeracy and in how we supported our students and overall community through the pandemic. The relationships I have built with our students, with you our parents/guardians community and with our overall staff have shaped me as a leader. I will never forget our community picnic potlucks and how this community came together in good and challenging times. The Bilingual Staffing Consultant position is a unique opportunity that arose unexpectedly and it is because of this that I have made the decision to take advantage of this new leadership opportunity.
Our school is strong and our leadership team, teaching team and support staff team are well prepared to continue moving our work forward. This work is well established and will continue under the leadership of the next Principal.
I have found my time working with you and your children to be very rewarding and I feel so fortunate to have worked with such wonderful staff that supports our students' learning unconditionally. I am grateful for the care and teamwork that I have found in our parent community, and am certain that this same level of support will be extended to the next Principal.
The Calgary Board of Education welcomes input from parents, students and staff regarding the programming and leadership attributes you value. Your input is taken into consideration as part of the hiring process and will support the selection of a new principal for Bob Edwards School.
