September Update

Bienvenue and Welcome to the 2017-18 school year. We are excited to welcome our new and returning families to Bob Edwards school. We had a smooth start up to the school year and our students are already hard at work and engaged in their learning.

Currently we have approximately 340 students enrolled, which is in line with what was projected in the spring. We have new and returning staff this school year. Ms. Reilly will continue to assist me in her Assistant-Principal role. We would like to welcome our returning teaching staff to Bob Edwards (in alphabetical order): Ms. Amanwi, Ms. Cunha, Ms. Franks, Ms. Gamache, Mr. Grunewald, Ms. Haggar, Ms. Hakime, Ms. Johnson, Mr. Kolesnikov, Ms. Massey, Mr. Morgan, Ms. Murphy, Mr. Prouse, Ms. Riebot, Mr. Rigaa, Mr. Sproule. Please join me in welcoming our new P.E. and Athletics teacher, Mr. Bayer.

Of course, our school benefits from a fantastic support staff team, which includes: Ms. Merkel and Ms. Pinkett (front office), Ms. Tang-Sakamoto (Education Assistant), Ms. Coutts (Behaviour Support Worker for The Class), Ms. Vienneau (cafeteria), new to us this year, Ms. Neufeld (Learning Commons) and our custodian team Mr. Wan and Mr. Banduyang.

On September 21, we will have our Meet the Teachers evening, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This is not Parent Teacher Interviews, but a chance to meet and get to know your student’s teachers and ask questions about their program. We believe that this is a very important day for us to welcome you in our school community. We will have refreshments and several important informational booths set up. We want to partner with you in your child’s education and we really hope to see you there.

The Bob Edwards mascot is an Eagle, which is a symbol of strength, determination, dedication and fortitude. At Bob Edwards school, we have many programs to meet our students’ needs, whether your family is part of our French immersion, Regular English or our system class, everyone is a Bob Edwards Eagle.

As a Bob Edwards team, we are ready and look forward to working side by side with you and your family in support of all of our students.

Principal, Bob Edwards School
