Parent Testimonials

“I would like to offer a very sincere thank you to the Administration and Staff at Bowness! Both of my kids have had a terrific experience with the teachers in core and elective classes. I’ve learned I can count on the Bowness Team to meet my kids where they are, challenge them, support them, and recognize their accomplishments. This school is a vibrant, safe and fun place for my kids to learn!” Parent of a Grade 10 and Grade 12 Student

“When asked where my children attend school I am always proud to say Bowness High School. I am a parent of three graduates of Bowness and how grateful I am that they were able to attend such a wonderful school. There is a sense of community and warmth as you enter the school because of the personable and helpful staff. A few years back when enrolment went down due to another high school opening in the area we didn’t know what to expect, but smaller resulted in greater opportunity for our children whether academic or extracurricular. My children were involved in the sports program where they learned skills in sportsmanship and leadership. We will always be grateful for the support and encouragement they received from their coaches and teachers. We couldn’t be happier with the young adults our children have become in large part from their experiences at Bowness High School. Go Trojans! Parent of Current and Former Students

Student Testimonials

“My three years spent at Bowness High School were the three best years of my school career thus far. Having the energy of a new principal, Mrs. Macdonald, when I started Grade 10 made me excited to start a new chapter of my life because she was just beginning a new chapter as well. I have seen the school modernize from saying goodbye to the old wing in grade ten, attending school through construction in grade eleven, to a new wing in grade twelve full of beautiful, and new classrooms. In this new space you can find an amazing Cosmetology area, Fitness Room, Robotics/ Pre-engineering room, and a Culinary Arts kitchen. The new Culinary Arts program took over the cafeteria at lunch hour, making lunch for everyone in the school, this has been a huge success so far, and I am sure that it will only continue to grow. The small population size of the school made me feel more connected with my peers, and the staff at Bowness High School. The endless encouragement, belief, and kindness of the teachers made going to each class exciting and enjoyable. The teachers at Bowness are very understanding, fair, and approachable. There are many ways for all the individuals to get involved from sports, clubs, and a variety of courses. I highly encourage everyone to get involved because it will truly make your high school experience more meaningful. Being a part of the Trojan Classic, a basketball tournament at the beginning of February, made me feel a strong sense of pride to be a Trojan. Thank you to all the staff that made my high school experience wonderful. Once a Trojan, always a Trojan.” Grade 12 Student

“I remember when I was in grade ten and when first walked into Bowness and how scared I was of high school, but those feelings of fear quickly vanished when I was welcomed by the staff and students as soon as I walked into the building. You cannot find a more welcoming and friendly high school than Bowness, every teacher has your best interests in mind and they are willing to help every student with whatever they need to succeed in their schooling. The small school environment offers an amazing high school experience for anyone who wants to feel like they’re more than just a number and who wants to have a positive impact on their school and community. Whether you're passionate about badminton, cooking, mechanics, or drama Bowness offers a club, class, or team that fits your interests. No matter what grade you're in I can guarantee that you will feel welcomed, safe, and have so much pride to be a part of such an amazing school. I am so grateful to of been a Trojan and I would recommend coming to Bowness to anyone!” Grade 12 Student
