Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.

The Alberta Government announced on July 21 that schools will be in Scenario 1 as of Sept. 1, 2020.

The CBE's 2020-21 re-entry plan is subject to change as more information becomes available from the province. We will continue to update schools with more details during the next school year.

You can find the COVID Self-Assessment Tool (daily checklist) in the Government Resources section on the CBE website.

Transportation

Many of our students will use Calgary Transit to get to and from school. These buses typically pick students up from each bus stop in their designated route and then go directly to Bowness High School. In mid to late August, the Calgary Transit website will have the routes for our school or click here for Calgary Transit Maps. Printed maps will be available in the main office when the school opens on August 24. Busing will begin on Tuesday, September 1 (check above under School Opening Information for busing details on this day).

Parking

Go to our Parking & Drop-Off page for information about visitor parking. There is no student parking available on Bowness High School property for the 2020-2021 school year.  Students can park on the streets in our community. Be aware that there is some restricted parking on these streets so watch for posted signs and be mindful of our community residents. The Bowness High School parking lot will be monitored daily and parking tickets will be issued.

Our school office opens on Monday, August 24 at 9:00 AM. Please call to make an appointment for registration.
