Staggered Entry for Kindergarten Students ONLY 2022-2023

For the 2022-23 school year we plan on beginning the first two days of school for Kindergarten students with staggered entry. We have planned this for the following reasons:

  • Allows students and teachers to have a smaller class size for the first week of school so that students and teachers can build strong connections right from the start
  • Reduces initial time away from parents/daycare as they adjust to a school setting
  • Allows us to better engage Kindergarten students in school routines and health protocols

On your first staggered entry day, teachers will greet students both at the busses (if applicable) and door A (main front door). All kindergarten students will be brought to door A for entry into the school. This is also where they will exit the building after their class for parent pick-up or to be guided onto the bus by their teacher.

We ask that you bring your child to school and not have them ride the bus on their staggered entry day.

We also ask that you plan to stay for our parent council sponsored ‘boo-hoo’ tea that will take place in the main gym. At this tea, you can enjoy the company of the other kindergarten parents in your child’s class, meet our parent council and talk with the school administration. It will also be a ‘safety net’ for any children who may be apprehensive about their first day of school

Staggered entry schedule:

September 1: Tuesday / Thursday students with last names starting with the letters A to M

*Students will attend school from 9:10 to 11:10a.m. For today only

September 1: Tuesday / Thursday students with last names starting with the letters N to Z

*Students will attend school from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. For today only

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2022-23 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2022-23 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
