CCC Club

The Cleaning & Caring Club (CCC) at Briar Hill School is about caring for our school environment. In addition to being focused on school cleanliness, the club is concerned with helping students understand the importance of always being thoughtful with their belongings. CCC will help keep Briar Hill school a safe, caring and kind place for all members of our community. The Cleaning & Caring Club meets once a week on Monday during lunch recess. This club has a rotating membership that ensures representation from each classroom.

Intramurals

Get into intramurals! It’s a fun, active way to spend your lunch recess, playing sports with other teammates and building team spirit and sportsmanship. It encourages young minds to be more active and more mindful of other people. Mr. Tucker’s and Ms. Johnsen’s students play on Mondays and Ms. LeVesconte and Ms. Eloho’s students play on Wednesdays. Last Monday, the Rogues beat the Cookie Crushers, 10 to 7 in an intense game of European Handball. On Wednesday, the Pink Fluffy Fires and Blazers went head to head, scoring back and forth, over and over until the Blazers blazed ahead to win by three points, 15 to 12. Both teams showed excellent passing and teamwork skills. Don’t forget, the Rogues play the Cookie Crushers on Monday, February 5, and the Ballistic Babies play the Pink Fluffy Fires on Wednesday, February 7. Root for your favourite intramural team! Newsletter Club

We have a new newsletter club called The Briar Hill Buzz. Members of the club are students from Grades 4, 5, and 6. The club meets every Tuesday to participate in the making of our newsletter. In the newsletter, we will cover stories such as special events, sports/intramurals, and keep you up to date on everything going on in the school. Our newsletter will be posted on the bulletin board to the left of the kindergarten room. Look for our newsletter every Wednesday. If you would like to have a story or art featured in the newsletter, please inform Ms. Eloho or Ms. Jordan. You can also put your suggestions in the ‘Buzz Box,’ located by the newsletter bulletin board. Stay informed with the Briar Hill Buzz! (Submitted by Saige and Naomi K.)

Ukelele Club

The Division 1 Ukelele club will be starting on February 21. Information on this club will be going home in the next week. Division 2 Ukelele club will begin after spring break.
