If your child will be absent from school, please phone the attendance line at 403-817-3536 ext. or send an email to buffalorubbingstone@cbe.ab.ca.  In your message, please indicate the reason for your child's absence.

  • Friday 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Supervision 

Supervision begins inside the school at 7:45 AM Monday to Friday. There is no outdoor supervision before or after school.
Parents are responsible to make arrangements for after school pick-up at 2:40 pm.

Grade 1 - 5

  • Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 2:40 PM
  • Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (half-day early dismissal)

Early Dismissal Fridays

Students are dismissed from school at 12:00 PM on Fridays. Staff use these afternoons for team planning, curriculum meetings, school development planning, professional development and full staff meetings.

Health & Outdoor Breaks

All students have a 12 minute outdoor health break each day. It is recommended that students bring a nutritious snack and water for this break. All students also have a supervised outdoor break during the lunch period, weather permitting.

Please also be sure to provide us with a current copy of any custody agreements.​​

We know that the success of your student is dependent on a strong partnership between families and the CBE. If you have a concern, it can usually be addressed at the classroom level. Your first step is to arrange to speak privately with your child’s teacher. If you feel your issue is still unresolved, please contact your principal. If you and the school are unable to find a resolution, please see our Concerns & Complaints​ page for additional information, including the process to contact your Area Director. ​​​​
