Notice Regarding Overflow Designation for Cambrian Heights School
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) would like to inform you that due to continued enrolment growth at Cambrian Heights School, the school will be unable to accommodate all the students from the currently designated communities for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year and beyond. For this reason, enrolment at Cambrian Heights School will be capped, and an overflow school will be established for students living in Livingston and Carrington.
Effective immediately, the following changes will be implemented for students who live in the Livingston community:
- All new kindergarten to Grade 6 students designated to Cambrian Heights School who cannot be accommodated at Cambrian Heights School will be designated to North Haven School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year and beyond.
- A lottery will be held in February 2024 for kindergarten and Grade 1 entry into Cambrian Heights for the 2024-25 school year. Students who are unsuccessful in the lottery process will be designated to North Haven School. Information about the CBE lottery process is available at Lottery Information for Parents.
The CBE strives to provide options to keep siblings together at a single school. Families with a kindergarten or grade 1 student who is unsuccessful in the lottery, and a sibling who is already attending Cambrian Heights School, may choose to register all children at North Haven School.
Effective immediately, the following changes will be implemented for students who live in the Carrington community:
- All new kindergarten to Grade 5 students designated to Cambrian Heights School who cannot be accommodated at Cambrian Heights School will be designated to Northern Lights School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
- All new Grade 6 students designated to Cambrian Heights School who cannot be accommodated at Cambrian Heights School will be designated to Nose Creek School for the remainder of the 2022-23 school year.
- The designated elementary school for the Carrington community for the 2023-24 school year and beyond is Northern Lights School, as outlined in a previous notice dated Oct. 28, 2022.

Notice Regarding Designation for Students Residing in the Carrington and Coventry Hills
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) would like to inform parents/guardians that Cambrian Heights School and Colonel Irvine School are experiencing continued enrolment and are at capacity. Effective for the 2023-24 school year, the following changes will be implemented:
- Students living in the Carrington community will no longer be designated to Cambrian Heights (kindergarten - Grade 6) and Colonel Irvine (Grade 7 – Grade 9) and will now be designated to Northern Lights (kindergarten - Grade 5) and Nose Creek (Grade 6 - Grade 9).
- All new registrations from students that reside in the Coventry Hills community who are on the boundary of Coventry Hills School and Northern Lights School, and who choose between the schools, will now be designated to only Coventry Hills School.
- All new registrations from students that reside in the west portion of the Coventry Hills community currently designated to Northern Lights will be designated to Coventry Hills School.
