Learning Commons at the CBE

Today’s learners cannot imagine life without the internet and supporting technology. The concept of the traditional library is changing to include technology, online tools and spaces for collaboration and exploration.

Learning Commons / Library

The Library Learning Commons is an innovative, interdisciplinary and dynamic teaching and learning environment to support and enhance learning. The space is repurposed to bring students and teachers together to work, study and socialize. Furniture promotes flexible work spaces for individuals and groups. Students construct meaning and form individual and collective knowledge through discovery, creativity, inquiry, tinkering and making. They become critical consumers of information, effective problem solvers and effective communicators.
