Kindergarten Program
Kindergarten plays an important role in engaging young children as active participants, building knowledge about themselves and the social and natural worlds. For the 2021-22 school year, it has been determined that Cecil Swanson School will offer a half-day kindergarten program, not a full-day program. Your child’s personalized learning needs will be met through a regular half-day program as is offered in most CBE schools. The CBE receives funding for half-day kindergarten programs from Alberta Education and as a school system we choose to supplement the half-day funding to provide full-day programs at a small number of schools that meet specific criteria. The list of schools receiving full-day programs is reviewed annually to determine which schools have the greatest need and meet the established criteria.
